Science fiction has given birth to many sub-genres, such as cyberpunk, which describes worlds dominated by technology and networks, filled with anti-hero hackers and mega-corporations, or steampunk, which postulates a society stuck in the age of steam and the industrial revolution, instead of electricity.
On the same model, the GiscardPunk (which can also be spelled as Giscardpunk) is a dystopian uchrony having for starting point the re-election of Valery Giscard d' Estaing in 1981. From there, France will become a great world power again, the cities will be rebuilt to resemble the Defense, new model of urbanism and all the technological innovation will remain centered on the successes of the 70s and 80s (minitel, orange TGV...).
