\/><\/a>\n\t\t\t<\/dt><\/dl>\n\t\t\t<br style='clear: both' \/>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\n<p>Durant l&rsquo;\u00e9t\u00e9 2013, j&rsquo;ai \u00e9t\u00e9 accueilli en r\u00e9sidence de cr\u00e9ation vid\u00e9oludique \u00e0 <strong>Visages du Monde<\/strong>, un lieu d\u00e9di\u00e9 \u00e0 la cr\u00e9ation num\u00e9rique situ\u00e9 \u00e0 Cergy (95), sur l&rsquo;invitation de Xavier Girard, directeur artistique du lieu. J&rsquo;avais choisi de travailler sur des syst\u00e8mes d&rsquo;interface mettant en communication l&rsquo;humain et l&rsquo;animal par le biais du jeu vid\u00e9o.<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab\u00a0<strong>Quand les hamsters r\u00e9gnaient sur la terre<\/strong>\u00a0\u00bb est le r\u00e9sultat de cette r\u00e9sidence. Il s&rsquo;agit d&rsquo;un ensemble d\u2019installations mettant en sc\u00e8ne des \u00e9preuves olympiques entre des animaux en chair et en os et des humains, dans un univers fictionnel o\u00f9 les hamsters ont pris le contr\u00f4le de la plan\u00eate et r\u00e9duit les hommes en esclavage.<\/p>\n<p>Le premier dispositif, <strong>Hamster Olympics<\/strong>, est un jeu d\u2019athl\u00e9tisme, \u00e0 la mani\u00e8re de l\u2019antique\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Track_%26_Field_(video_game)\" target=\"_blank\">Track n\u2019 Field<\/a> qui oppose un hamster et un joueur humain. Le hamster cours dans une roue munie de capteurs qui vont enregistrer la vitesse de ses d\u00e9placements et les retranscrire \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9cran. Le joueur humain, quand \u00e0 lui, doit courir face \u00e0 une Kinect.<\/p>\n<p>Le second dispositif, <strong>Hamster Olympics: Fish Edition<\/strong> est un jeu de natation entre des poissons rouges et un joueur humain. Une cam\u00e9ra plac\u00e9e au dessus de l\u2019aquarium capture les mouvement des poissons et va les retranscrire \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9cran . Le joueur humain devra de son c\u00f4t\u00e9 mimer des mouvements de nage face \u00e0 un capteur Kinect.<\/p>\n<p>J&rsquo;avais bri\u00e8vement abord\u00e9 ce sujet avec <a title=\"Mormyre-pong\" href=\"http:\/\/florentdeloison.fr\/blog\/2007\/11\/20\/mormyre-pong\/\">Mormyre-pong<\/a>, un jeu qui permettait de jouer \u00e0 Pong avec des poissons. Je souhaitais ainsi, par le biais du jeu vid\u00e9o concevoir une interface entre le monde animal et humain, qui partagent le m\u00eame espace, les m\u00eames temporalit\u00e9s, mais sans toutefois se comprendre ou parfois en s&rsquo;ignorant mutuellement. I chose to work on interface systems enabling communication between human and animal through video games.<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab\u00a0Quand les hamsters r\u00e9gnaient sur la terre\u00a0\u00bb (When hamsters ruled the earth) is a set of installations featuring Olympic events between real animals and humans , in a fictional universe where hamsters took control of the planet and reduces men into slavery.<\/p>\n<p>The first installation , Hamster Olympics is an athletic game , like the old Track n &lsquo;Field, opposing an hamster and an human player . The hamster runs in a wheel equipped with sensors that will record the speed of his movements and transcribe those on the screen. The player must run in front of a Kinect which record the speed of his movements.<\/p>\n<p>The second game , Hamster Olympics: Fish Edition is a game between a goldfish and an human player . A camera placed above the aquarium captures the movement of fish and will transcribe them on the screen. The human player must in turn mimic swimming movements in front of a Kinect sensor.<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab When Hamster ruled the earth \u00bb is a playful device who question with acidity an anthropocentrism rooted in our culture. Entrusting game controllers to animals, to make them as efficient as a joystick, transforming them into a communication device.
